I keep thinking about the fairly recent MSNBC survey that indicated 55% of people were dissatisfied with their work. Whether people work for a huge corporation or are working for themselves and working hard for clients, we all need to feel like we are working toward a higher purpose.<br><br>This is why open-book management is such an important concept. If you can make all people in an organization feel like their work impacts the company's overall success, you can motivate people more. If you are working for yourself, then you must make your clients feel like your work will make their lives better. There are a lot of ways to do this, but you have to figure out the best way to convince others that your involvement will better their own situation.
