A lot of thought needs to go into the design for your blog.  It’s the window to your company that many people look through. You want a simple layout, interaction with your community, and the ability for people to subscribe in multiple ways. Remember, email is still the #1 way people subscribe.

    You can start at a place like http://48days.net, but you give all the google
    juice to that site when you’re creating for it. You have no place to send
    your own traffic if you do that, and you don’t get to keep and export your
    stuff. You don’t own it. 48days.net could shut down the next day and you’ll
    lose everything.

    Without a doubt you need to be on your own platform. At the very least start
    on wordpress.com.
