West Conner called to tell me the strangest place he’s listened to the show. Call or email and let me know where you listen to the show.

Matt Wegner called to ask how I bill clients and how I accept payment.

Andy Traub and I had a discussion last week about the ethics of accepting credit.

Steven Moore asks, “You said the average is $800.00 for 6 months. Do you collect it up front or in installments? Also, how many times do you meet with the client?”

Cliff and Andy covered Checkwriter, a software tool I got them both using recently.  They spent an entire show talking about it in a humorous way.

1shoppingcart (affiliate link) is the best solution I know of (and use) for an online shopping cart.

Here is the guy you need to contact for a payment processing solution, Jim Minschew is who I use.  Be sure to tell him Justin sent you and he’ll take great care of you.

    Justin,

    Another great show…

Sorry for that poor audio quality on my call-in. I used my Blackberry and just called. Next time I will record a better quality and send it to you.

I’m marking this one to come back to once I’m at a point I can get money coming in for what I do.

One thing you mentioned that wasn’t even a main point, but something you threw in there I think was your analysis of time management. You said you analyzed a single task (going to the bank) and saw that it took you 5 minutes each time. And that if you extrapolated that out it consumed 40 HOURS A YEAR! That’s a “typical” business week you’d spend waiting at the bank! That’s crazy!

But who would think that 5 minutes adds up like that? I wouldn’t at first glance. When I was hearing you speak I was expecting you to say a few hours. NOT A WHOLE WEEK!

I think for the majority of small business owners if they sat down and analyzed their time like what you did they would see there is AMPLE room to adjust out non-value added activities and adjust in things that positive impact their businesses.

    Great point, Justin!

And I haven’t looked back since, Ivan. I rarely go to the bank now and if I need to, Christine goes for me. It’s just too much of a time suck and I’ll gladly pay not to have to do it.
