Kent Julian is a speaker, trainer and coach who lives near Atlanta, GA. Kent began a semi-traditional career as a youth pastor and then a national director of a ministry.

Kent has structured his life in such a way that he gets to do what he wants every day. He takes off a few months during the summer to coach a swim team in his community.

When he started his business, he initially did it on the side.  He first got into Life and Career Coaching and describes his early days as being filled with enthusiasm and fear.

For three years, Kent spend 15-20 hours per week.  He made a total of $4,000 his first year.  His second year he made $24,000.  His third year (still part time) he made $68,000.  During his fourth year, Live it Forward’s revenues were $126,000.

Rob was in the chat and asked what the tipping point was.  Kent responded with TOMA – Top Of Mind Awareness.

I interviewed Kent on the radio a few times in 2009.  On Past Due Radio we talked about the two things that lead to entrepreneurial success.

Here’s how Kent says he’s getting the word out:

  1. Speak for “fee” and speak for “free”
  2. Having an attitude of service

Kent leads a speaker’s Boot Camp every year and I’m one of the speakers.  Check out speakitforward.com.
